I cannot fathom why people, especially communists and media still listen to Joma Sison. He was in prison 9 years (captured 1977 by Marcos and released by Cory in 1986).
He has been in the Netherlands since 1987, or for thirty long years, or for most of his adult working life.
That means for 39 years he was either secluded in prison or enjoying a Dutch lifestyle.
How long siya nakikibaka with his comrades in Pinas?
Counting from 1968, when he founded the CPP, to his arrest in 1977, that’s just NINE years. And most of this time — from the declaration of martial law to his arrest — he was living very comfortably in safe-houses in Metro Manila, not even in provincial cities.
Contrast that to my old comrades ex-party chairman Benny Tiamzon and his wife Wilma Austria who spent 43 years in the urban underground (when they were members of the Manila Rizal Party committee) and then in the jungles as guerrillas until capture in 2014.
So this revolutionary leader — that’s what he calls himself — spent three-fourths of his “revolutionary” days not in the trenches of the Revolution.
And he has the gall to talk about undertaking Revolution in the Philippines?
And the foreign- and oligarch-financed Rappler published his long rant against the Republic’s President? Amazing.

MANILA, Philippines — The government peace panel will no longer resume peace talks with the National Democratic Front (NDF) once President Duterte declares the group a terrorist organization.
Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III, chair of the government panel, said the declaration of the NDF and its armed wing as a terrorist group is tantamount to scrapping the peace negotiations. X
The NDF is the umbrella of all communist groups in the country, including front organizations. The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) is its political arm, while the New People’s Army (NPA) is the armed wing.
“If the CPP-NPA is eventually declared as terrorist group, it would probably bring about the official termination of the peace talks,” Bello told The STAR.
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of National Defense (DND) is waiting for funds to bankroll the planned acquisition of a fleet of brand-new attack helicopters, an official said yesterday.
President Duterte promised wounded soldiers during a recent visit at the Philippine Army Hospital in Taguig City that he would purchase 23 brand new attack helicopters that will help and support them in fighting the terrorists and other known enemies of the state.
Director Arsenio Andolong, defense spokesman said big-ticket projects under Horizon 2 of the Revised Armed Forces of the Philippines Modernization Program (RAFPMP), which includes the acquisition of the attack helicopters, has no approved budget for contract as yet.
“We have programmed the procurement of 24 attack helicopters. We are now awaiting the final approval of the Office of the President on the RAFPMP Second Horizon,” Andolong said.
In behalf of MGEN RONNIE S EVANGELISTA AFP, Commander of Civil Relations Service, Armed Forces of he Philippines, COL JOSE VICTOR VARGAS JR PAF (GSC), Group Commander of 7th CRG, CRSAFP presented the certificate of appreciation to MR. NOEL LITAN of Australia and New Zealand Association of Employment Providers Incorporated for being donors of relief goods for our soldiers who fought the terrorists to liberate Marawi City and internally displaced people in Mindanao.
This is your AFP’s simple way of showing gratitude for your efforts in supporting our troops and our dear Mindanaons. May you continue to be a blessing to others and to our country. Thank you very much!
Duterte says NPA a terrorist group composed of bunch of criminals
“Sawa na ako sa pininira nila ng property, pagsunog ng equipment … and their killings of innocent people … may four-month old pa…,” the president said at a press conference in Davao City.
Duterte said he will issue a proclamation declaring the NPA as a terrorist organization.
PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte said he will proclaim the New People’s Army a terrorist organization, and crack down on leftist groups such as the Bagong Alyansang Makabayan for conspiring with communist rebels.
“Beginning now, there will be no more talk about rebellion because rebellion is a [bailable] offense. We will file terrorism, murder and arson charges,” Duterte said in Filipino at a press conference in Davao City Saturday.
Calling the NPA “a bunch of criminals,” the President said he is no longer inclined to continue the peace talks with the National Democratic Front of the Philippines, the political arm of the Communist Party of the Philippines.
“I’m sick and tired of their destroying property and equipment… and their killing of innocent people, including a four-month-old girl,” Duterte said, referring to a Nov. 10 communist ambush in Talakag town in Bukidnon in which a baby was killed.
