This event is entitled as the Peace Road 2017 World Tour – Philippines with a theme “Connecting the World through Peace”. It is a project initiated by the Universal Peace Federation Philippines and also be held in other 120 nations worldwide aiming to advance the ideals of building a world of peace.

GENERAL Eduardo Año, Armed Forces chief-of-staff told the wounded soldiers that the AFP is proud of them for the gallantry they demonstrated while in the tour of duty. “The Armed Forces of the Philippines is proud of you. Get well soon, brave soldiers,” Año told the wounded soldiers and militiamen he visited on Saturday at Camp Navarro General Hospital, Zamboanga city. Año awarded medals to five wounded soldiers and three militiamen during his visit to them. The recipients of the wounded personnel medal (WPM) were the following soldiers: Staff Sergeant Junifel Pangasian; Sergeant Al-Muktar Sali; Corporal Ayatulla Hamid; Private Arjone Bano; and, Sergeant Yusop Nahudan. The three militiamen who received WPM medal were Mole Icasama, Lito Lalag and Charlie Alejandro. They were wounded in separate firefights against the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) in Basilan province; the New People’ Army Rebels in Zamboanga del Norte; and, the Maute group in Marawi City. “We are seeing the end of the Marawi armed conflict with more than 560 terrorists slain in the battle area. We see this as an opportunity to end terrorism and bring the defeat of threat groups in Basilan, Sulu, Marawi, and Maguindanao,” Año told the troops during his visit. “These are times when we really feel the support of our countrymen, which is very rewarding for us, soldiers,” he added. He also commended Lieutenant General Carlito Galvez, Jr., Western Mindanao Command (Wesmincom) chief, for the successful offensives against the ASG and the local terrorists within the joint area of operations. “I further laud our medical personnel for giving their service to our battle casualties. We owe our success to the brave soldiers, to the commanders, and our stakeholders,” he said. Año arrived from Basilan, shortly after he visited the troops at the headquarters of the Army’s 104th Infantry Brigade in Camp Luis Biel, III in the village of Tabiawan, Isabela City. He was accompanied by Galvez; Brigadier General Cirilito Sobejana, Commander of the Joint Task Force Sulu; Brigadier Custodio Parcon, Jr., Commander of the Joint Task Force Tawi-Tawi; and Colonel Leonel Nicolas, Commander of the Joint Task Force Zamboanga. This day marks the opening of the 7th Regional Youth Leadership Summit of the National Capital Region. This summit aimed to raise awareness, deepens nationalism and become agents of positive change.
Participants are composed of 70 Muslim-Chirstian Youth Leaders from NCR who will be great partners of peace, positive change to lead.
This summit is facilitated by 7th Civil Relations Group, CRSAFP led by Colonel Jose Victor Vargas Jr PAF (GSC) under the operational control of Joint Task Force NCR AFP held at Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) was a civilian initiated event to pay tribute to honor our Fallen and Wounded Soldiers who fought for us, Filipinos. This event was supported and witnessed by Major General Melquiades L Feliciano AFP, Deputy Chief of Staff for CMO, J7 with the officers and personnel of Philippine National Police. Our dear soldiers, police officers and their dependents were invited to watch this live to show the Civilian’s appreciation and support for our troops. This was held at Smart Araneta Coliseum on August 12, 2017. It was a fund raising activity led by JCI Manila. Some of its proceeds will be donated to AFP Health Service Command.
NSFA, Panacan, Davao City – Aside from the enhanced maritime patrol being conducted by the Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao and the joint maritime patrol with the Philippine Coast Guard in the territorial waters in South Eastern Mindanao, Eastern Mindanao Command (EMC) further intensified the border crossing security to prevent terrorist and other transnational crime syndicate from using the backdoor as entry point with the creation of an inter-agency border security council.
During the Inter-Agency meeting at Headquarters Eastern Mindanao Command at Naval Station Felix Apolinario, Panacan, Davao City on June 28, 2017 the Inter-Agency attendees discussed and provided input in enhancing the southern border security. Further it was agreed upon to organize a Border Security Council that will be composed of different agencies involved in maritime, immigration, foreign relations and other law enforcement agencies; and different Local Government Units.
The Inter-Agency Border Security Council will be a mechanism and venue for member agency in reporting and assessing border security and recommending measures to be undertaken. It also defines the role and task of each member agency in the effort of securing the border.
Meanwhile, border crossing stations in Cape San Agustin in Governor Generoso and Balut Island, Saranggani, Davao Occidental are being improved to strengthen the watch and monitoring system of the territorial border in Eastern Mindanao.
On the other hand Joint Task Force Haribon is presently profiling the different bancas along the Davao Gulf as part of the effort of enhancing the “Bantay Dagat” a community based coastal security as additional measure of security. In coordination with Local Government Units this will be replicated in all coastal areas in EMC AOR.
